Errymaple International School Students Experience a Taste of China on an Educational Tour



Errymaple 国际学校学生在教育之旅体验中国风情

The enriching educational tour that the students from Errymaple International School embarked on, from the 14th - 15th of March, not only broadened their cultural horizons but also tantalized their taste buds. The two-day trip was also designed to integrate learning with hands-on experience, which took place in the picturesque village of Groombridge, where the renowned Four Seasons restaurant curated an unforgettable culinary experience for the students.

3 月 14 日至 15 日,Errymaple 国际学校的学生们参加了一次丰富的教育之旅,这不仅刺激了他们的味蕾,还开阔了他们的文化视野。在风景如画的 Groombridge 村庄,著名的四季餐厅为学生们策划了一次难忘的烹饪体验。


Upon arrival at Four Seasons, the students were warmly welcomed and introduced to the rich tapestry of Chinese cuisine. Their first culinary experience featured a selection of delectable Chinese dishes, with a particular highlight being the famed Sichuan dish. Known for its bold flavors and fragrant spices, the Sichuan cuisine offered the students a delightful foray into the distinctive tastes of China. From the perfectly balanced chili heat to the aromatic herbs, each bite was a testament to the restaurant's commitment to bringing authentic Chinese flavors to Zimbabwe.

抵达四季餐厅后,学生们受到了热情接待,四季餐厅给学生们介绍了丰富多彩的中国美食。他们的第一次烹饪体验是品尝美味的中国菜肴,其中的川菜是一大亮点。川菜以其浓郁的味道和芬芳的香料而闻名,让学生们领略了中国菜的独特风味。从完美平衡的辣椒热度到芳香四溢的香料,四季餐厅将正宗的中国风味带到了津巴布韦。



The appreciation for the food extended beyond mere enjoyment; it became a gateway for discussions about cultural diversity and the importance of culinary arts. Teachers encouraged the students to share their thoughts and feelings about the dishes, fostering an engaging environment where culinary education met cultural exploration.

对美食的欣赏不仅仅是享受,它还成为了讨论文化多样性和烹饪艺术重要性的切入点。老师们鼓励学生们分享他们对菜肴的想法和感受,营造了一个烹饪教育与文化探索相融合的环境。


The next day was marked by an exciting cooking workshop where the students rolled up their sleeves and learned how to make traditional Chinese dumplings. Guided by expert chefs, the learners were taken through each step of the dumpling-making process—from kneading the dough to skilfully folding the dumplings. The experience was not just about food preparation but a lesson in patience, teamwork, and the art of balancing flavors.

第二天是令人兴奋的烹饪工作坊,学生们挽起袖子,学习如何制作传统的中国饺子。在专业厨师的指导下,学生们学习了包饺子的每一个步骤——从揉面到熟练地包饺子。这次体验不仅是关于中华美食的学习,也是一堂关于耐心、团队合作和口味均衡的艺术课。



As the students crafted their dumplings, laughter, and chatter filled the kitchen, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and joy. Once the dumplings were cooked, students savored the fruits of their labor, relishing the delicious dumplings they had created. The act of eating together served to strengthen bonds among classmates, highlighting the importance of community and shared experiences.

在学生们包饺子的过程中,厨房里充满了欢声笑语,洋溢着友爱和欢乐的气氛。饺子煮熟后,学生们品尝着自己的劳动成果,回味着自己制作美味饺子的整个过程。共同进餐加强了同学之间的联系,突出了团队合作和共同体验的重要性。

This educational tour not only deepened the students' appreciation for Chinese cuisine but also provided them with valuable life skills that extend beyond the classroom. The experience reinforced the idea that learning can happen in many forms and environments, and cultural exchanges
