CIUZ Successfully Hosts Chinese Teacher Training 津大孔院成功举办2026年首次中文教师培训

2026年1月24日，津巴布韦大学孔子学院（CIUZ）举办为期一天的教师培训，内容涵盖国际中文教育2+2项目介绍及本年度“汉字英雄大赛”的组织工作以及汉语水平考试（HSK）、汉语水平口语考试（HSKK）和中小学生汉语水平考试（YCT）的报名及监考培训。来自津巴布韦各地教学点的中文教师及孔子学院工作人员参加了此次培训。

In his opening remarks, Dr L. Mukaro, the Director, highlighted that the Institute has taken bold steps to address the growing demand for qualified Chinese language teachers in the country through a new Joint International Chinese Education Degree Program. In partnership with Hangzhou Normal University (HNU) and the Centre for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC), a four-year bachelor’s program is designed to foster cultural exchange and academic collaboration. Students will spend their first two years at the University of Zimbabwe and complete the final two years at HNU, with a joint degree being awarded upon successful completion. This initiative not only strengthens Zimbabwe’s pool of Chinese language educators but also offers students immersive international experiences.

在开幕致辞中， 孔院院长Dr L. Mukaro强调， 为应对国内对合格汉语教师日益增长的需求，学院已采取积极措施，新设国际中文教育联合学位项目。该项目由津巴布韦大学与杭州师范大学（HNU）及语言教育与交流合作中心（CLEC）合作开展，为期四年的本科课程旨在促进文化交流与学术合作。学生前两年在津巴布韦大学学习，后两年在杭州师范大学完成学业，顺利毕业者可获得两校联合颁发的学位证书。这一举措不仅加强了津巴布韦汉语师资队伍建设，也为学生提供了沉浸式的国际教育体验。

Additionally, the participants received training in conducting the Chinese character hero competition and in enhanced HSK / HSKK / YCT  Invigilator’s Training, ensuring both academic excellence and exam integrity. The Chinese Character Hero Competition allows students from different Primary schools, Secondary schools, and tertiary institutions to compete through writing and reading of Chinese Characters. This opportunity allows students to showcase their talent in learning Chinese Characters and to explore various ways of grasping them.

The presentation on HSK / HSKK / YCT Invigilators Training outlined the official procedures and policies governing these exams, ensuring that candidates are assessed under internationally recognized conditions. The highlight was on key procedures and policies that included the online pre-registration process, payment of exam fees, and confirmation of registration, among others. An emphasis was made on adherence to these procedures that are essential to uphold exam integrity and ensure smooth exam administration. By enforcing clear procedures, transparent communication, and rigorous integrity standards, CIUZ strengthens its role as the guardian of Chinese language proficiency testing in Zimbabwe. These efforts not only safeguard exam quality but also reinforce CIUZ’s reputation as a trusted partner in international education.

The facilitators also took the opportunity to remind the participants of the official schedule and administration guidelines for the HSK, HSKK, and YCT exams for the year 2026. The announcement underscores CIUZ’s commitment to maintaining international standards in Chinese language proficiency testing and ensuring smooth exam administration for candidates across Zimbabwe.

培训讲师还借此机会向参训人员通报了2026年HSK、HSKK和YCT考试的官方时间安排及管理指南，彰显了津大孔院致力于维护汉语水平测试国际标准、确保津巴布韦各地考生顺利参加考试的承诺。

Another presentation outlined the structure, administration, and supervision of these internationally recognized examinations, underscoring the commitment to quality assurance and global standards. CIUZ serves as the central test center in Harare, supported by branches at Midlands Christian College in Gweru and Hillside Teachers College in Bulawayo to extend services to other provinces. Responsibilities of these centers include scheduling test dates and registering candidates, conducting exams, and ensuring compliance with international standards.

With these initiatives, CIUZ is building a sustainable framework for Chinese language education in Zimbabwe. The joint degree program will produce highly skilled teachers, while invigilator training safeguards the credibility of proficiency testing. Together, they represent a significant step forward in strengthening academic and cultural ties between Zimbabwe and China. The participants welcomed the initiatives by CIUZ, as some will have the opportunity to further their studies. New teachers applauded CIUZ for looking out for them with regard to the quality and standardization of the competition and exam process.
