参加“中津友谊奖学金”颁奖仪式

2025年1月21日，津巴布韦大学孔子学院及其教学点部分师生受邀参加了中国驻津巴布韦大使馆举办的“中津友谊奖学金”颁奖仪式。中国大使馆为津大孔院及其中文教学点的部分优秀学生提供奖学金，旨在激励品学兼优的津巴学生在学好课内功课的同时，坚持不懈刻苦学习中文，积极参与推广中华文化等各类活动，并取得优异成绩。

The Confucius Institute at the University of Zimbabwe and its teaching sites participated in the "China-Zimbabwe Friendship Scholarship" award ceremony held by the Chinese Embassy in Zimbabwe on the 21^st  of January 2025. The Chinese Embassy offered the Friendship Scholarship in order to motivate academically strong and morally upright Zimbabwean students study Chinese diligently, actively participate in various activities such as promoting Chinese culture, and achieve excellent results.

本次奖学金共设立特等奖和普通奖两个奖项，根据学生学习中文的态度、持续时间、成绩和参与中华文化推广、中文比赛的情况以及他们其他各门学科成绩，在大中小学的学生中综合评选，共选拔出50余名获奖学生。 

This scholarship was categorized in two parts namely excellent and general award. The students were selected based on their attitudes towards learning Chinese, duration of study & grades attained in learning Chinese, their participation in the promotion of Chinese culture and Chinese competitions, as well as their grades in other subjects. A total of more than 50 award-winning students were selected among students in primary, secondary schools and universities.

中国驻津巴布韦大使周鼎出席典礼并发表主题演讲。其他出席典礼的嘉宾包括津巴布韦高等教育、创新、科学和技术发展部副部长西梅利西兹韦·西班达先生、津巴布韦大学孔子学院中外方院长及部分教师，以及来自各教学点的校长、教师和学生等。

The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Zhou Ding the Chinese Ambassador in Zimbabwe. The function was also attended by Honourable Simelisizwe Sibanda, Deputy Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development, Directors of the Confucius Institute at the University of Zimbabwe, Heads and teachers from schools and students from various teaching sites among other guests.

周大使在讲话中对获得奖学金的学生表示祝贺，并对津巴布韦高等教育部以及孔子学院为促进津巴布韦中文教学所做出的巨大贡献表示感谢。他表示，2025年是中津建交45周年，两国全面战略伙伴关系的不断深化将使学习中文的学生获得广泛的就业机会，希望学生们能够继续学习中文，加深对汉语背后文化和哲学的理解，大胆、积极地传递思想，凝聚人心，讲述中津友谊的故事，并向所有参加颁奖典礼的人员送上了新年祝愿。

In his remarks, Ambassador Zhou acknowledged the Zimbabwean Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education department and the Confucius Institute for their immense contribution towards the promotion of Chinese language teaching in the country. He also indicated that the year 2025 marked the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Zimbabwe. He mentioned that the continuous deepening of this comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Zimbabwe will benefit Chinese learners with a wide range of economic opportunities. He hopes that the students keep studying Chinese and deepening their understanding of the culture and philosophy behind the language, be bold and active in conveying ideas, bringing people together, and telling stories about China-Zimbabwe friendship. At the same time, he also sent his best wishes for the New Year to all those attending the award ceremony.

津巴布韦高等教育、创新、科学和技术发展部副部长西梅利西兹韦·西班达先生在他的演讲中对使馆设立中津友谊奖学金表示了感谢，并表示该奖项设立多年以来已使许多津巴布韦中文学习者受益，他希望这些奖学金学生能够努力学习，不断提高自身的知识水平和职业技能。

In his speech, Hon. Simelisizwe Sibanda, Deputy Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development, expressed his gratitude to the Embassy for establishing the China-Zimbabwe Friendship Scholarship, acknowledging how the project has benefited many Zimbabwean Chinese learners over the years. He hopes that these students could study harder and continuously improve their knowledge and professional skills.

津巴布韦大学孔子学院外方院长Laston Mukaro对使馆颁发奖学金以激励学生更好地学习中文表示了感谢，希望学生们能抓住机会，利用学校、孔院、使馆等提供的资源，与老师交流、与同学练习，让自己沉浸在语言中，拓展视野、发展技能、为充满可能性的未来做好准备。

In his speech, Dr. Laston Mukaro, Local Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Zimbabwe, expressed his gratitude to the embassy for awarding scholarships to encourage students to learn Chinese better, and gave his own message to the award-winning students.  He hopes that the students would seize the opportunity, make use of the resources provided by their school, the Confucius Institute, the Embassy, engage with their teachers, practice with their peers, and immerse themselves in the language. He also hoped that they would broaden their horizons, develop valuable skills, and prepare for a future full of possibilities.

中津友谊奖学金的设立，极大鼓舞了津巴布韦中文学习者的学习热情，学生们表示将更加努力地学习、理解并掌握这门语言，为中津友好交流做出贡献。

The establishment of the China-Zimbabwe Friendship Scholarship has greatly encouraged the learning enthusiasm of Chinese learners in Zimbabwe. The students also mentioned that they will work harder to learn, understand and master this language and contribute to the friendly exchanges between China and Zimbabwe.
