2025年汉字英雄大赛圆满成功


The second Chinese Character Hero Contest took place at the Golden Peacock Hotel in Harare on the 28th of March 2025. The event brought together students from primary schools, high schools, and colleges/university to showcase their knowledge of Chinese characters. The event was organized by the Confucius Institute (CI) at the University of Zimbabwe celebrating the the 2025 International Chinese Language day.

第二届“国际中文日•汉字英雄大赛”于 2025 年 3 月 28 日在哈拉雷金孔雀酒店举行。来自小学、中学和大学的学生们齐聚一堂,展示他们对汉字的认识。该活动由津巴布韦大学孔子学院(CIUZ)主办,旨在庆祝2025年“国际中文日”,与大家一起分享中文的魅力

The competition aimed to ignite enthusiasm for learning Chinese among participants. Local Director of CI Dr. Mukaro emphasized the need to learn Chinese and continuously reflect on one's progress. The Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Prof Fainos Mangena, highlighted the importance of language learning in a globalized world.

比赛旨在点燃参赛者学习中文的热情。孔子学院外方院长Dr. Mukaro强调了学习中文和不断反思个人进步的重要性。艺术与人文学院院长Prof Fainos Mangena也强调了语言学习在全球化时代具有重要意义。


汉字英雄


A total of 9 students from the Primary school’s category, 18 students from the High school’s category and 6 students from University and colleges were engaged in competition, respectively. Winners of the competition included Discent Jingo, a University of Zimbabwe student, and Rutendo Ndoma, a 17-year-old from Midlands Christian College who took first place in the Secondary Schools category for the second time and Tinenyasha Mapuranga from Maranatha Primary school coming first in these categories. Jingo emphasized the rewards of learning Chinese, citing growing Zimbabwe-China cooperation and resulting opportunities.

本次决赛共有9名小学生、18名中学生和6名大学生参加。津巴布韦大学学生Discent Jingo获得了大学组第一名,Midlands Christian College的17岁学生Rutendo Ndoma蝉联两届中学组第一名。Maranatha小学的Tinenyasha Mapuranga获得了小学组第一名。Jingo分享了学习中文的体会,他提到中津两国日益紧密的合作关系以及由此带来的发展机遇。





The competition was testing the students’ knowledge of Chinese characters on the following aspects, such as:

Character Recognition: Chinese characters can be complex and visually similar.

汉字识别:汉字结构复杂,部分字形相近,容易混淆。


Tonal system: Chinese has a tonal system, with four tones and a neutral tone. Paragraph reading was used to test the participants, with many students exhibiting mother tongue influence by using a flat tone.

声调系统:中文共有四个声调和一个轻声。我们通过段落阅读来测试学生,许多学生受母语影响,往往使用平调。


Stroke order: Chinese characters have a specific stroke order, which can be difficult to learn and remember.笔顺:汉字有严格的笔画顺序,学习和记忆都具有一定挑战性。




Learning Chinese characters requires hard work and consistency for one to be able to perform better. Chinese characters are logograms, representing words or concepts. Mastering them requires practice, patience, and dedication. Students typically start by learning basic strokes and radicals, then practice writing and recognizing characters to build one's vocabulary.

学习汉字需要下苦功夫,持之以恒,才能取得更好的成绩。有学者认为汉字是表意文字,从汉字的形体中我们可以窥见该字的部分意思。掌握汉字需要练习、耐心和专注。学生一般从学习基本笔画和偏旁部首开始,然后练习书写和认字,积累词汇。





To be successful in learning Chinese Characters students were encouraged to adopt the following strategies:

为提高汉字学习效果,我们鼓励学生采取以下策略:

Break characters down into basic components: Focus on individual strokes and radicals.

将汉字分解为基本部件:关注笔画与偏旁部首,帮助理解结构。

Practice regularly: Regular practice helps build and retain character knowledge.

定期练习:持续练习有助于巩固和积累汉字知识。

Use visual aids: Flashcards and diagrams help associate characters with meanings and contexts.

使用直观教具:如生字卡片和图片,有助于将新字与含义和语境相结合。

Seek feedback and support: Work with a teacher or tutor for personalized feedback and support.

寻求反馈与支持:与老师合作,获取个性化指导和鼓励。



The event showcased the growing interest in Chinese language learning among Zimbabwean students, reflecting the country's strengthening ties with China. This competition has triggered a new dimension in Chinese learning in Zimbabwe, potentially reinvigorating Chinese language enthusiasm.

此次活动展示了津巴布韦学生对中文学习日益浓厚的兴趣,反映了津巴布韦与中国关系的不断加强。这场比赛在津巴布韦掀起了新的中文学习热潮,有望进一步激发学习热情,推动中文教育的发展。
