CIUZ Chinese teachers excel in the Teaching Skills Competition

津大孔院教学点中文教师在“汉教英雄会”教学技能大赛中表现卓越

In a remarkable display of educational excellence, five Chinese school teachers from the Confucius Institute at the University of Zimbabwe’s teaching sites participated in a prestigious Chinese teaching skills competition. The event, which took place in the Confucius Institute at the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, from the 24^th to the 26^th of November 2025, aimed to enhance teaching methodologies and improve the quality of Chinese language education in the region.

2025年11月24日至26日，来自津巴布韦大学孔子学院教学点的五位中文教师参加了在坦桑尼亚达累斯萨拉姆大学孔子学院举办的一项享有盛誉的汉语教学技能大赛。该赛事旨在提升教学方法，改善该地区汉语教育质量。

In her remarks, the Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Dar es Salaam, the event coordinator, emphasized the importance of such competitions in fostering professional development among teachers. "This competition not only highlights the talents of our educators but also encourages the sharing of best practices, ensuring that we provide the highest standard of education to our students,” said the Director.

本次活动的负责人达累斯萨拉姆大学孔子学院院长在致辞中强调了此类比赛对促进教师专业发展的重要性。她表示：“这次比赛不仅彰显了我们教师们的才华，也促进了优质经验的交流，确保为学生提供最优质的教育。”

Competitors from various Chinese schools across the five participating African countries showcased their expertise in language instruction. The competition featured categories such as lesson planning, classroom management, and student engagement strategies, allowing educators to demonstrate their skills in real-time classroom settings.

来自五个非洲国家多所中文学校的参赛者展示了他们在语言教学方面的专业技能。比赛设置了教案设计、课堂管理和学生互动策略等环节，让教师们能够在真实的课堂环境中实时展示教学能力。

The event also served as a platform for cultural exchange, as it provided the opportunity to network amongst the participants, further bridging the gap between Zimbabwean and Chinese educational communities. The dedication, commitment, and passion demonstrated by all the educators were truly remarkable. In essence, the participants came from different parts of Africa yet shared a common goal: to improve teaching methodologies and foster a deeper understanding of the Chinese language and culture.

One of the greatest highlights of this journey was when the Confucius Institute at the University of Zimbabwe won the Award for Outstanding Organization, and our teachers also received the Excellent Teacher Award. Receiving that award was more than an achievement—it was a validation of passion, effort, and commitment to helping learners fall in love with the Chinese language. That moment transformed the teachers’ confidence and strengthened their belief that they were on the right path as educators.

此次旅程最辉煌的亮点之一是津巴布韦大学孔子学院荣获“优秀组织奖“，同时我们的教师也荣获“优秀教师奖”。获奖不仅是一项成就——更是对热情、付出和致力于帮助学习者爱上汉语的肯定。获奖那一刻增强了教师们的信心，让他们更加坚信自己正走在正确的教育道路上。

As the competition concluded, many teachers expressed a sense of camaraderie and a renewed commitment to improving their teaching practices. They highlighted that this experience had motivated them to explore new methods that can engage students more effectively.
